The Springdale School Library/Media Center offers a range of instructional activities, print, non-‐ print and electronic media materials to the students and staff.
Our Library/Media Center is the curriculum center of our school. A full range of materials, equipment and services are available to students and teachers. Special areas of the Media/Library Center include the reference area, the primary story area, two Internet Access Technology Labs, the Follet Circulation Plus Access Center, the production/copy area and the meeting areas.
Our Library/Media Center is staffed with a full-‐time Media Specialist and a Technology Educational Assistant as well as numerous parent/community volunteers.
Every class visits the Library/Media Center for a minimum of thirty minutes a week. Students may engage in a variety of instructional activities including: selecting or exchanging books, utilization of technology, computer instruction, storytelling, Internet access, instruction in information retrieval skills, activities that are integrated with classroom units, skills instruction in critical thinking, viewing media presentations and computer instruction.
