Book Swap & Family Reading Night
Please mark Thursday, Feb. 16
th
on your calendars! That’s the day we will have a book swap during the day and Family Reading Night that evening. For the Book Swap, parents are asked to donate any gently used books that their children have outgrown. These should be sent in by the 10
th
or the children can bring in a book to swap on the 16
th
. On that day, all students will have an opportunity to pick a “new” book from the selection of donations. Please see the attached flyer.
That night, families will gather in the Media Center at 7:00 PM to read with one another. Families are asked to bring their own books but book swap books will also be available. We look forward to a wonderful day of reading at Springdale very soon. Please join us!

Literacy Volunteers – Stamford/Greenwich, Inc. has been providing free English language and job training programs to adults, young adults and families in our community for nearly 40 years. Based on student outcomes, LVSG is the top-performing volunteer-based adult education program in Connecticut.
As we all know, there is a strong connection between the educational level of a parent and the success that a child experiences in school. LVSG is eager to ensure that parents can be true partners in their children’s education. Research demonstrates that parents who are involved in improving their own skills serve as positive role models for their children.
Please see the attached flyers for more information.
