Springdale welcomes its diverse student population and implements a variety of experiences to reach out to our school community. Some of our more noteworthy events include Literacy Volunteers Program, Family Dinners, Family Fun and Learning Nights, Springdale Neighborhood Clean-Up, and the Spring Community Art Show which showcases the art work of students, parents, staff and community volunteers.

The staff, parents and community work closely together to implement a broad range of initiatives that support academic success. These initiatives include the Houghton Mifflin Reading and Mathematics Programs, Authors in Residence Program, Northeast Foundation for Children Responsive Classroom Social Skills Program, Musician in Residence Program and Junior Achievement Elementary School Program among others. Corporate partnerships assist our educational efforts.

The School Library / Media Center, houses two "state of the art" networked technology labs. Classrooms are equipped with two or more computers and
Presently Internet access is available in the upper grades.
